Friday the 13th (1980)

Ethan:

This isn't an awful movie and it has a few pretty good parts. one interesting note is that the main killer in this movie actually isn't Jason which i didn't know about when first watching it. the movie is pretty decent up until the last 30 minutes when i was getting extremely frustrated at the last girl left. shes runs around and knocks out the villain probably 4-5 times and everytime just runs away only to let the villain revover and come after her again. this was hard to watch and i found myself yelling at the screen to just kill her already. the last scene while shes on the boat is pretty jumpy and a good touch to end a drawn out movie that could of been over 45 minutes earlier.

Inglorious Bastards

Ethan:

This movie was alright. the biggest problem i had with it was how slow some of the scenes in the movie were. this was a 2 hr and 30 min movie and there was around 1 hr of it were there seemed like nothing was going on. there was great comic relief is Brad Pitt's character and his American view of just wanting to kill Nazi's. the story is a fictional view of World War 2 if some different things would of happened. entertaining at times, and kinda funny at the same time.

Jeepers Creepers

Ethan:

Not an awful movie with some interesting parts. the idea was a bit more original than other horror movies that have come out post 2000. its about this guy named the creeper who comes out every 23rd spring for 23 days. the guy have to eat peoples body parts so that he can strengthen his own. probably the best part was that instead of the whole "happy ending, kill the bad guy" deal at the end of most movies this one has a bit more of an exciting ending in my opinion. "...jeepers, creepers...whered you get them peepers..."

Up In The Air

Bryan Howe:

Im going to be completely honest. This was the most depressing movie I have ever watched in my lifetime. Now for some, you might think that this statement is a big one, but if you ever see this movie, you will agree 100 percent with me. Staring George Clooney, the film is about a man who literally spends his life at the airport. His job is to go to different cities across America and fire people from their jobs. The only possible way I would suggest this movie to someone is if that person if WAY to happy and needs to come done to earth for a while. Other than that, i really have no idea why I would promote this.

Saving Private Ryan

Ethan:

Strong story that keeps the viewer entertained throughout and has the ability to think that anything could break out at any time. from the opening scene on the beaches of D-Day to the final fight the movie is action packed and seems to give an accurate depiction of World War II. Tom Hanks gives a great performance as well as the supposrting cast to give this movie a great feel and seem like the events are actually happening.

Halloween (1978)

Ethan:

there was a lot of hype about this movie from what i had read but i found that it really wasn't all that great. it for sure wasn't scary and the acting seemed rather mediocre. the only scary thing that could come out of this is it probably has more reality then other slasher flicks making it so that the audience would see this one as the most plausible to actually be able to happen. still this movie was pretty lame. Although this is the new age view of it because back when this came out it was a revolution in the horror genre as it started every slasher film and has given ideas and such to just about every horror movie that came after it.

Se7en

Ethan:

This was a crime/thiller that ended up being a fantastic movie in my opinion. with great performances from both Brad Pitt as well as Morgan Freeman, this movie is centered around a serial killer who kills the victims based on the seven deadly sins. the plot is set up alot like the saw movies, and it can be seen that they may of stole a few ideas from this movie. personally i thought this was better than saw, because of the acting as well as the story that seemed to be very catchy and wanting more and more from the viewer. great plot twists, and impossible to guess what is going to happen next.

The Silence of the Lambs

Ethan:

a movie that swept the Oscars when it came out in 1991, the movie has some amazing acting especially by Anthony Hopkins in his role as Dr. Hannibal Lector. this is more of a thriller/mystery than a horror film that some portray it as. the main idea is that they want to use Dr. Hannibal to find another serial killer by the name of buffalo bill. this is a great movie with plot twists and never knowing what is going to happen next. just wait for Hannibal's escape scene...

nothing bad to say about this movie, fantastic

Ethan:

FAST ZOMBIES! probably the scariest thing ever. usually you can out walk the un-dead but these zombies or "infected" as they are called in the movie are rabid rage filled versions of normal lame ass zombies. the idea presented in this movie has a lot more potential then the movie gave in my opinion and it could of been made much scarier. overall the director and his staff took a great idea and did not live up to the potential that it had. not enough blood and killing, boring at times, slow, wierd plot.

really? this could of been so much better

Dawn of the Dead (2004)

Ethan:

Zombie movies are awesome, there really isn't anything to not like. Zombie movies don't require good acting, or any plot for that matter. Dawn of the Dead does though have some sort of an interesting plot and the zombie fighting action is thrilling as always. this is one of the better zombie movies out there and as with all zombie movies there are always some doses of humor present. get your shotguns and machetes ready....the zombie apocalypse is coming.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

Ethan:

Interesting adaption of the video game which gives life to the idea of creating movies out of other video games, which i am all for. the story moves well and has some original ideas around the typical "hero" plot. while the main idea of the plot is predictable like all hero movies the inner workings of the story are original and provide some entertaining action. I'm not too fond of the the choice of Jak
e Gyllenhal as the lead actor, this movie could of been cast much better.

nothing special just a regular movie

The Shining

Ethan:

After going through countless lists of "the scariest movies of all time" this one is always top 5 and alot of the time takes the number one spot. Based on the book by Steven King, this movie adaption is fantastic and full of so much more then a typical horror film. there is so much more to this movie then the horror and so many things that leave open endings and leave questions to be answered once the movie is over. is it just cabin fever or is the hotel really haunted? what is the make of the final scene? these questions are left ot be decided by the viewer and have no straight right answer. the directing and filming is unbelievable, and without it the movie would not be what it is. Jack Nicholson puts together a fantastic performance as he seems to grow more insane with every scene. trailer ;

amazing acting, directing, and filming creates a masterpiece of horror

Resident Evil: Extinction

Ethan:

the latest installment in the series of movies, this one wasn't really that much better then the other tow, and probably the worst one yet. not because it was actually bad, but just because they are running out of ideas. there are only so many ways to kill a bunch of zombies. the "last boss" fight was pretty lame and i was expecting something a bit more interesting. this movie portrays the theme of solidarity so much that it almost makes this movie depressing and boring. overall, if all your looking for is zombies dieing (i share this guilty pleasure) then this is a good flick.

Ethan:

the second in the series, we are returned to where the first one ended and we are set to find out that the virus unleashed by the Umbrella corporation was not kept in the hive and has escaped into the world. this movie takes place on a larger scale then the predecessor and for good reason too and it keeps the movies interesting by not following the same plot. we find that the main character has become ten times more bad ass since the last one and now instead of being scared of zombies she runs around the city killing them all. very entertaining to say the least.

Goodfellas

Bryan Howe:

This film views the mob lives of three pivotal figures in the 1960's and 70's New York. Based on a true story, the movie revolves around Henry and his friends as they make their way from petty crimes, to full out murders. This film is one of those stories for those of you who love intense drug dealing gangster movies. For me, I found this movie absolutely amazing.

If you are a zombie freak, and are thinking about getting ready for the zombie apocalypse, I suggest watching this movie because it has everything that you would probably want to know. Its about a group of scientists who let an experiment gone wrong out into the world, and it ends up creating a world of zombie infested nightmares. This was a good watch, but a little freaky for my taste. For those of yo who love movies about the end of the world, this ones for you.

Movie Rating - 3 If There Nothing Else

Ethan Howe:

this being the first movie in the series is for sure lives up to a standard that the rest have to follow. one of the best aspects is following around the main character as she tries to figure out her life and what has happened in "the hive". deep down she knows what is going on here but she cant seem to get it out. trapped in a huge underground maze? check. blood thirsty zombies? check. suspense? check. this is a fantastic movie that sets the tone for the rest of the series.

It was a good movie, but i felt like there was something missing. Shrek gets put into this alternate reality where all the original characters are not the characters you have been seeing for the last three movies. Other than that, i would say its a movie you should go see if you are a Shrek fan.

Bryan Howe

Staring Michael Cera, i knew right away that this movie was going to have some of the same humor as his recent films. Its about a 16 year old boy named nick Nick Twisp who falls in love with a girl at the trailer park during his summer vacation. After finding out that he has to go back home when summer ends, he decides to become bad to try and get kicked out of his house so that he can live with his new girlfriend. I found this movie pretty funny. Although there were some parts in the movie that were really pointless, I would have to say that overall it was a good watch.

At first glance at the title this movie could seem like one of those films that are totally lame. But after watching the preview I was totally convinced. The film is about a group of super soldiers that are trying to be killed by a man going by the name of Max. After getting together, the group decides to go after Max for the last time. This movie is packed full of action and is the complete "guy movie" from begining to end. From explosions, to fire fights and of coarse super hot girls sprinkled in, this movie is perfect. Even though it is more of a movie for guys, it is still an appropriate movie to bring the girlfriend to.

With his partner Cal Naughton, Jr they seem to be doing just that, until a French Formula One driver makes his way into the NASCAR world. Ricky Bobby must now face an opponent that is threatening to pass Ricky as the best driver in the sport.

This is a great movie for those who love Will Ferrell. For those that don't enjoy his comedy, it might not be appealing since this movie has mainly the same kind of humor as his other films.

This
movie is the typical Sunday evening movie to go and watch with the family. Dan Sanders soon finds himself dealing with a group of protesters he never saw coming. The local woodland creatures who don't want their home being destroyed. This was a movie for the girls. The plot was predictable, boy meets girl, they fight, she leaves, he wants her back, she plays hard to get, they end up together.

The tough girl persona will resonate with females, the "get back at her" plot will appeal to males, the intermittent periods of boredom will appeal to nobody. There were a few funny scenes in the film but they were not enough to make me want to see this movie again.

This was fantastic movie. The plot was not easily guessable and the laughs were endless from start to finish. Rob Corddry was hilarious and was for sure the funniest actor in the film. His part was to be the asshole friend who seems to always be the worse one of the group and he portrays this role fantastically.

The preview doesn't show much of the plot at all, and you will come away very impressed with the story and how everything pans out. I could watch this movie many more times and still laugh at all the funny parts and I do not see it ever getting old. One of the funniest movies I've seen in awhile.

I had a great laugh with this movie. A little edgy in some parts, but the laughs were genuine and the time period jokes were spot on. Those ski suits were just like the pictures I've seen of my parents.

You just can't beat an absolutely brainless movie where a bunch of friends get together and end up doing something completely stupid, its Jackass for the 80's and adding Chevy Chase as the pool boy gave it that little something extra.

Perseus, son of Zeus is struggling with his half human half God persona while being called on to save Argos from the wrath of Hades. The head of Medusa serves as the only solution to stopping the kraken destroy Argos and the world.

The big budget feel of the movie was nice, but it honestly left me a little bored. The 3D effects were minimal and they did little to bring the old story to life in a different way.

Movie Rating: 3- If There's Nothing Else

Now this movie definitely had no lack of special effects or action, and if that is all that your looking for in a movie then this might be just for you.

Personally this movie was lacking in many important areas especially the plot. i felt that while watching it too much happened in too short of a time period and this movie would of been better fit if it was somehow spread into two different films. they tried to get too much out in one movie and should of saved some for a sequel or something to that extent.

Overall, this movie was alright but possibly worth seeing again if i had nothing else to do but not something im dying to go get the second it comes out on dvd.

If i ended up at a movie theater in the next month and everything was sold out except this movie then i would see it again, but that would probably be the only way it would happen.
